Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how CoParent (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use the CoParent mobile applications and related services (the “Service”). By using CoParent, you agree to this policy.

1. Who the Service is for

CoParent is designed for co-parents coordinating care for a child across households. The Service is intended for adults. Do not create an account for a child. Information about a child that you choose to store (for example routines, allergies, or school details) is provided by parents for coordination between linked family members only.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use CoParent, we may process:

• Account data — email address, display name, authentication identifiers (including when you sign in with Google or Apple), and profile details you add (phone, labels, home base, preferences).
• Family & coordination data — family membership, invite codes, custody schedules and events, messages (including voice messages you record), expenses and settlements, documents you upload, kid-info fields you enter, and related notifications.
• Device & technical data — push notification tokens, approximate device/app metadata needed to deliver notifications and keep the Service secure, and basic diagnostics if you contact support.
• Purchase data — subscription status for Coordinating Plus is handled through Apple, Google, and our payments partner (RevenueCat). We receive entitlement status; we do not store your full payment card details.

3. How we use information

• To provide and sync shared coordination features between linked co-parents
• To authenticate you, secure accounts, and prevent abuse
• To send in-app and push notifications you enable
• To process subscriptions and unlock Coordinating Plus features
• To improve reliability and fix issues
• To comply with law and enforce our Terms

4. How information is shared

Content you add to a family (calendar, messages, expenses, documents, kid info) is visible to the other parent linked to that family, as needed for the feature. We do not sell your personal information.

We use service providers that process data on our behalf, including:

• Supabase — authentication, database, file storage, and edge functions
• Expo / Apple / Google — app delivery and push notification infrastructure
• RevenueCat and the app stores — subscription management

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, or the Service.

5. Data retention

We keep account and family data while your account is active. If you delete your account in Settings, we remove your login and anonymize your profile for remaining shared history where records must stay with the other parent (shown as “Deleted account”). Some backups or legal records may persist for a limited period.

6. Your choices

• Update profile and notification preferences in Settings
• Leave a family or delete your account in the app
• Manage or cancel Coordinating Plus through your Apple or Google subscription settings
• Revoke OS permissions (camera, microphone, photos, notifications) in device settings

7. Children’s privacy

CoParent is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Parents may store coordination details about their child for use within the linked family.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures appropriate to a consumer coordination app (encrypted transit, access controls, authenticated APIs). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

9. International processing

Your information may be processed in countries where we or our providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. We will revise the “Last updated” date and, when changes are material, provide additional notice in the app or by email when appropriate.
